Cancer ripped the plasters off

By Adriana ESF

“I started having counselling after active treatment had finished; I thought it would be a wise idea after everything I’d been through. I created this just after I came back from a session recently. The bottle represents all my bottled up negative emotions that are starting to now spill out. The cracks had only been plastered up, so to speak, so bottling things up was never a long term solution. Cancer seems to have ripped some of the plasters off. I don’t see this as necessarily a bad thing, it means I am now tackling issues that I needed to, both related to cancer and pre-cancer-  a process of taking down barriers and healing, rather than sealing things up. “
