TaBooB

By Jane Quigley

“My name is Jane Quigley

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. I had a mastectomy in 2022

While I was processing the news, which was a complete shock, I decided to create a cast of my breasts. The process was very therapeutic. My husband had to assist in the cast making, but that gave us an opportunity to talk and share what I was going through, it also made us laugh during quite a difficult time!

I painted my cast with cherry blossom. The branches symbolise my scar, and the blossom symbolise hope. Cherry blossom in China and Japan represent female sexuality

I have created a kit with instructions for other women to make at home with easy to follow instructions. I have called it TaBooB as it can be a taboo subject

My Instagram page is taboob2022

On my page I want women to be able to share their stories and share photos of their casts”
