Wabi Sabi Breasts

by Jeanette Nowak

“In Japan, when something beautiful breaks it gets mended with gold, making it even more beautiful. This mug belonged to one of my sons but has now become part of my breast cancer creative journey. I called my mug Wabi Sabi breasts. I love the beauty to be found in decay and impermanence. We may feel broken but we are beautiful! My cancer has been easier to bear because it unleashed a huge creative burst in me and I have woven almost 100 baskets and painted loads of pictures. Creative energy is so healing and it has helped me immensely on my journey.”
