Grow Through What You Go Through

By Marlene Styles

“Grow through what you go through…. this wasn’t an easy thing for me. I literally had to just let myself dive in. Growing like a tree, through the fire of hell (cancer) hence the orange flames, then its splattered with red (blood), crazy thoughts and forgetfulness (chemo brain), the pink ribbon on the breast, the strange appearance of the face, being unrecognizable to myself, the pink ribbons around the neck signifies how the cancer tried to choke the life out of me…. and then all the bright colors and positive words that carried me through! I know this won’t have any meaning to some but for me it truly put things into some sort of perspective.”
