“This painting is called ‘The White Knight’, a direct reference to terminology used regarding psychological rescuers. The horse is the knight, perhaps he stands for treatment, perhaps it’s my Cinderella complex and he is rescuing me, galloping towards me to take me home to my beloved sun dappled forest. I’m walking away from my tumour whose tendrils are touching parts of my life but is also having treatment. The symbols on the tendrils speak for themselves. I’m am still in active treatment but I’ve walked from the darkness, through the arid sand dunes and can now see the sun and home.”
