My name is Claire Grove and I’m married with two teenage children and a mad dog. Painting is a newly discovered therapy for me; when I am able to switch off from the world and paint whatever inspires me.
“My lovely family and friends always told me how well I looked, how I suited being bald, how I was brave. This was painted at a time when I felt anything but brave and well; when I felt tired, sick and vulnerable. I’m not good at telling people how I feel, and this painting was a way to communicate how I felt and that despite a positive attitude, there are some days when it feels like cancer is winning.”
